A
HAIRY PROBLEM:
Robin: "Don't touch the hair."
Somehow I get the
feeling that this was a phrase uttered over,
and over, and over, and over.....
SHOCK
TO THE SYSTEM:
Kemal gets hit with the Magic Whip,
which, if you haven't noticed, is the Medieval World's very first Taser.
The magic part is that it magically pulls Kemal's jacket half off so we
get a tremendous
glimpse of that magnificent chest!
BUG
JUICE?:
Little John is knocked out by the Magic
Whip, and of course
Tuck has some of his famous crunchy raw unboned
undead frog brew ready for him.
IT
LOOKED DIFFERENT IN THE BROCHURE:
Brand is keeping all his prisoners in
a papier mache cave inside a papier mache cliff front. The jail cells
are made of Lincoln Logs.
HOW
LONG WERE YOU GONE AGAIN?:
One liability of Robin's new hairdo
is the fact that it's moderately distinctive. Yet when he enters
the cave dressed in the thug's clothing, the guards don't notice that their
friend who just
went to relieve himself a minute ago came
back with an extra foot or so of hair!
NO
ONE GOES THERE, EVER,... I MEAN IT!:
Tuck says that NO ONE goes to Druid's
Grove. He conveniently forgot that he was there in The Legion, specifically
in the graveyard.
PLAYING
FULLBACK FOR THE SHERWOOD OUTLAWS:
It looks like Robin is wearing football
shoulder pads under his fancy costume. Funny that he took Lord Cadbury's
shirt and cape, but kept his own pants. Cadbury being somewhat
shorter, I guess his pants would look like
highwaders on Robin.
IT
DOESN'T GO WITH YOUR SHOES:
Robin: "What, you don't like my
blouse?" Of course we like your blouse, Robin, it's totally see through.
In fact, it being see through, there's not much point in wearing it, is
there? Why
don't you just take it off?
I KNOW YOU FROM SOMEWHERE,
DON'T I?:
If this is the first time Robin has
met Kemal, how does he know his name? Maybe Marion or Tuck or Little
John-- who heard Kadija screaming for Kemal in the square-- told him.
ANOTHER
FINE MESS YOU'VE GOTTEN US INTO:
Tuck and Little John sitting on the
back of the carriage, doing their best Laurel and Hardy impression.
Who didn't see this coming? I just want to know how Richard got all
his hair
under that hat!
I
BELIEVE,... I THINK:
Previously Marion either didn't believe
in magic, or she didn't approve of it. So where did she get the incantation
to send the Magic Whip back to Kragemmon?
A BIT FOGGY
ON THAT POINT:
Our heroes attempt to ride into the
forbidden part of the forest, but the horses are scared by The Fog Machines
of Druid's Grove.
WORK
IT BABY, WORK IT!:
I love these very dramatic scenes of
our well styled Outlaws in their winter wardrobe walking through the trees
and mist. What is this, a Renaissance Calvin Klein ad? Oh,
and I looooove the new tunic that Robin is wearing, specially the decollete.)
Very risque.
THEY
NEVER SAW IT COMING:
The Outlaws are pulled into the pit
and Tuck is bitten by The Invisible Twig Monster. However, it doesn't
like the taste of Tuck so it gets Omar and Omar fades into the woodwork.
NICE
TRAP YOU'VE GOT HERE:
Seems the hole the Outlaws are in and
the hole that Robin is looking at are not the same hole. The hole
Robin is looking down into is lined with torn up tar paper. At least
the trap has a decent
roof on it.
ALL
THE LIGHTS ARE ON, BUT NO ONE IS HOME:
When Brand and Kadija approach Kragammon's
cave there is a brilliant glow in the doorway. It's not nearly
that bright inside, so where does the light come from?
DO
WHAT I TELL YOU OR ELSE:
Kadija won't do what Brand wants, so
he decides to use Bad Guy Threat #3, the-knife-at-the-throat maneuver.
She doesn't seem to realize that if she doesn't do what he wants and he
kills
her he still won't get the whip. The
threat is empty because if he kills her that means he has to go out and
find another virgin.
WELL,
ENOUGH CHIT CHAT:
Robin asks Marion if she'd been here
before why did she come back. If you're in this scary place to rescue
someone's virtue, shouldn't you get on with it and stop asking stupid questions?
LOOK MA, NO ARMS:
Robin won't fight an unarmed man?
Nope, he'll let another unarmed man do that for him. That's why the
Celtic Idol falls on Brand.
SOMEONE'S
CLOCK MUST BE RUNNING FAST:
Robin: "Time heals all wounds."
Yeah, and if we keep Kemal busy fighting all
season long that will work too.
It must have if he doesn't give another
thought to looking for Kadija again.
FINAL
SCORE:
This was visually one of the more exciting
episodes. I like the way they made Barbara look like a teenager;
they did a better job this time around than they did with Matthew in Legend
of Olwyn. I would have liked them to follow up on Kemal's quest to
find Kadija later in the series.
Then again, we can't always get what
we want, can we?
